A multidisciplinary consulting and technical assistance company with a focus on India's agriculture and rural development sectors is known as AFC or the Agricultural Finance Corporation Limited. Since 1968, the organisation has offered a wide range of consulting services. The Audit Committee controls the financial reporting and accounting, external auditor, regulatory compliance, and the internal control process in accordance with the provisions of Section 292A of the Companies Act of 1956. AFC has completed more than 6000 consulting assignments of various types for clients over the course of its five decades of operation, including the Government of India, State Governments, NABARD, Commercial Banks, Cooperative Banks, PSUs, Corporates, NGOs, and multilateral agencies like the World Bank, IFAD, ADB, EOI, FAO, UNDP, etc. In addition, AFC has the advantage of having experience in nearly all of the sub-sectors and subject areas related to its three main focus areas: agriculture, rural development, and socio-economic development.
AFC's core competencies include identifying potential projects to advance development in various sub-sectors, conducting pre-feasibility/scoping studies, baseline studies, potential surveys, formulating and evaluating projects, techno-economic project appraisals, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, needs assessment, socio-economic studies, and other services. AFC has expanded its scope over the years to include the implementation of massive grassroots-level projects in fields like organic farming, agriculture extension, agribusiness development, watershed development, forestry, climate change, promotion of rural livelihoods, education, health & nutrition, training & capacity building, skilling, and financial literacy. AFC today provides services across the full value chain of agriculture and rural development that ranges from project implementation and management to policies advocacy and development of skill in the semi-urban and rural areas of the country.
